1. Phone, stalk, harass. How many ways are there to say the same thing? They have ended the relationship, it is their right and you must respect that. Begging, pleading and trying to convince will only convince them they were right in ending it.

2. Destroy their property. This is all part of respecting them. When you love someone, you respect them and do not wish to hurt them. Besides, it doesn’t help you, does it?

3. Be rude about them behind their back. Have some dignity. You chose this person, you chose them for a reason. It doesn’t reflect well on you if you badmouth them, even if they cheated on you.

4. Go out with their best friend. Because it is not fair on their best friend. You might think you are getting revenge but all you are doing is dragging some innocent party into the blood bath.

5. Have sex with them. Doesn’t matter how good it is, you won’t feel good after. And sex is not a reason for them to come back to you. Or if it is, it doesn’t say much for your relationship.

6. Eat or drink to drown your sorrows. You’ll only get fat or a hangover. Or both! If you are feeling bad, food will not change those feelings. Only you can do that.

7. Annoy your friends with incessant talk about your ex. Remember that great circle of friends? If you want to keep them, be good to them too. They will help you, support you, be a rock for you, up to a certain point. Would you want to listen to your friend going on and on about this great person who was so great they dumped your friend? No, I didn’t think so. It’s good to talk, it’s even essential but not exclusively about your ex.

8. Go by their house or favourite bar in the hope of “bumping” into them. Why are you doing this? To show them you’ve gone to pieces? Not a good look. To show them how well you are doing? Well, in that case, you are not!

9. Go around with a miserable face. Smiling has been scientifically proven to enhance your mood. Inversely, looking miserable will make you feel miserable. So why do it?

10. And did I say phone, stalk and harass?
